Most people think "boring, soppy stuff" when they think of poetry, but I prefer to think of it as word music. Some of my lyrics are/were poems and vice versa.

Though the words are not sung, they must have rhythm, and musical ideas like counterpoint, retando etc. apply. Simple poems, like limericks, really show the importance of good rhythm in poetry; the best limericks have it, and if there's no rhythm the limerick doesn't work.

However, this page is really about my poetry, some has been published (though not recently) but I do it more for me; poetry is usually personal which is why there is the male cliche about not writing it, or liking/ reading it even. My poetry varies more, but is usually exploring feelings, but sometimes are even just experiments with interesting words!
